To encourage parent involvement in our school and in the lives of the students, the Parent/Teacher Fellowship designed this program to offer families a variety of areas in which to volunteer.
Every year, each WCCA family will be billed $200 for the Parent Participation Program (PPP), which is due the first day of school and is refundable by working 40 hours during the school year.
The fee does not change for the number of children in school. Grandparents and other family members (21 and over) may volunteer their time and it will be counted toward the family’s total.
PPP Volunteer Log forms are available in the school office or download one here. These forms are also e-mailed home at the beginning of each quarter. Parents are to log in volunteer hours as they are performed. At the end of each quarter, the log is submitted to the bookkeeper with the number of hours volunteered for that quarter.
Each family who completes the 40 hours will receive a refund of the fee, upon request. Refunds are issued after each quarter to only those families who have completed 40 hours of service. Or, each year the 40 hours are completed, they may choose to “roll” the fee over for the next school year, opting to receive a refund once their family no longer has children at WCCA.
Each family who works only a portion of its hours will receive a refund based on the number of hours actually worked. A family may opt to do no volunteer service at all, in which case there will be no refund of the fee.
The money collected will be held in an account. No money will be spent until final determination is made of the hours worked by each family and refunds and rollovers have been made. At that time 50% will be used by the PTF for scholarships and the rest for areas such as remodeling, repairs, equipment, sports, etc.
