After-School Enrichment Programs

WCCA provides a wide range of after-school enrichment programs for our students to encourage them to be well rounded.

Music:

Violin Class I or II: Violin Class I meets on Tuesdays and is designed for beginning violin students of any grades. Violin Class II meets on Thursdays and is designed for advanced violin students. Both classes meet from 3:15-4:15pm.

Violin Orchestra: This class is designed for advanced students and meets every Friday from 3-4pm.

Students may sign-up for one or all classes. The instructor, Mrs. Heekyung Park, has a Master's Degree in music and has performed with various orchestras.

Choir: Open to Jr. High students only, this class teaches basic music theory, choral and individual performance skills and music appreciation. Directed by Mrs. Park.

Piano: Offered to all students, from Preschool through 8th grade. Lessons can be scheduled before, after or during school. For an additional fee, the piano teacher, Gjertrud Davis, will give lessons in your home.

Languages:

We offer 2 foreign language classes: German and American Sign Language (ASL). These classes also meet weekly.

Other:

Science Club: If you enjoy hands-on science experiments, Science Club is for you! After school will be spent raising and breeding microscopic creatures, mixing reactive chemicals, excavating and reconstructing animal skeletons, and much more!  This class meets on Tuesdays.

Cooking with Sumiko: Love to bake and cook, but don't know how? Here is your chance to learn! WCCA introduces a fresh, tasty and mouth-watering cooking class for 5th through 8th graders. This class meets every Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:15pm.

Computer Club: Computer Club meets on Mondays and is designed for 5th-8th graders. Students learn HTML and use their knowledge to create their own web site. Students will also learn animation and beginning programming concepts using Pencil, Alice and Scratch.
